Pisces
is the last sign of the zodiac. It closes the karmic Tikune cycle, which is the
final correction. It is said that anyone born as under this sign has the
opportunity, with the right consciousness, to finish his Tikun completely, not
to die and reincarnate, but to achieve immortal life. The Book of Formation says
"...He enthroned the letter Gimmel and created a crown to it and created with it
the Tzedek in the world..." Tzedek, or Jupiter, rules the signs of Pisces and
Sagittarius. The internal energy of Jupiter is wisdom, peace, mercy, justice,
humbleness and good deeds. Pisceans and Sagittarians enjoy success in any
business, profit and wealth, hope, happiness, marriage and more.. The Book of
Formation relates to Jupiter all the positive characters that bring us success
in anything we do. This explains why the months over which Jupiter rules contain
openings for miracles and wonders in our life.
Pisces completes the astrological cycle that begins with Aries. It is Central
Column of the water signs, and is controlled by two planets, Jupiter and
Neptune.
Jupiter controls two signs: Pisces and Sagittarius. These two months, Adar and
Kislev, are characterized by the tremendous miracles that took place because of
the energy of Jupiter. Sagittarius marks the miracles of Chanukah. Adar coined
the miracle of Purim, created by Esther, Mordechai, and the unity between the
Jews in Shushan, Persia. This "togetherness" and mass effort of unconditional
sharing caused the miracle that prevented the total extermination of the Jews in
Persia, under Achashverosh’s rule.
Jupiter is the planet of success, miracles, expansion of the metaphysical vessel
and our extension of our spiritual ability.
The second planet that rules Pisces, Neptune, was discovered only in the 19th
century as the planet to rule the abstract; the planet itself has no boundaries
or limitations, as it is surrounded by gas. It controls intuition, imagination,
creativity and art. It provides us with the ability to see and understand beyond
our five senses.
The combination of these two planets gives Pisces a very powerful emotional
ability. They are remarkably sensitive and vulnerable with the strongest
intuition of any sign. They are very deep people, whether it comes to opinion,
thought, or inspiration. Pisceans have an uncanny talent for sensitivity toward
others, for they can truly enter a person’s heart and mind and experience the
pain and suffering of others.
The letter Kuf created Pisces. Kuf’s distinguishing characteristic is that it is
the only Hebrew letter that dips below the line of writing. Kabbalah explains
that it is therefore able to remove light from the Klipah, the negative side,
removing its control over our lives. The Zohar explains that the Kuf is in two
worlds, the good and the bad, life and death. Happiness it the only thing that
activates the energy of Purim so we can remove all chaos, depression and sadness
from our lives, leaving only joy and fulfillment. The 7th day of Adar is the
birth and death anniversary of Moses. Moses was the great leader that took the
Israelites out of Egypt, and led them in desert for forty years. Moses was the
one who spoke to God face to face, who gave the world the famed Tablets engraved
with the codes and laws of our universe. On this day we celebrate his
anniversary by learning and reading from the Zohar, which helps us to elevate
our consciousness to a higher one. The Torah describes the death of Moses, but
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says in the Zohar that Moses didn’t die, and that he is
with us in each generation. The Zohar also speaks about two potential Messiahs -
Ben David and Ben Yosef. Moses is the third Messiah, the one that will bring the
final correction.
The symbol of Pisces is two fish swimming in opposite directions, one swimming
with the stream, one against the stream. Pisces are usually very quiet people.
They are sensitive, vulnerable, very intuitive, and are great listeners. They
absorb the other person’s problems like a sponge. That is the reason they have
the tendency to be overweight; they easily retain the liquid that the body
consumes. Pisces has a great ability to penetrate the deepest of spiritual
studies. Physics, chemistry, philosophy and psychology are second nature to
Pisceans. Their ability to understand others, to concede and forgive, to support
without jealousy, to be mild tempered, and to give and love unconditionally –
abilities we should all strive for. The other side of the Pisces’ coin is a
tremendous sense of victimization , capacity to be abused, and tendency toward
addictions. A weak Pisces is prone to self-pity and too often, God forbid,
suicide. A Pisces, one who swims against the stream, can be a very powerful
spiritual leader, like Moses. It is well within the Pisces reach to achieve
leadership with humilty, care, and love.
Pisces are artistic by nature, and love music, art, theater, and fashion.
Because of their ability to act, they also make super scientists, teachers, and
politicians. Their love for water and the sea is innate. They have the
metaphysical ability predict the future, and they can often be psychic and
clairvoyant.
Adar is known for the holiday of Purim. According to the sages, it will be the
only holiday that will continue to be celebrated throughout the world after the
Messiah comes. "When Adar begins, joy enters," as the famous Hebraic phrase
goes. It is a month of happiness, miracles and wonders. It affords us the
ability to achieve mind over matter, to overcome our doubts and connect to the
Light.
This year is a leap year on the lunar calendar, meaning a year that has two
Adars. This incidence creates a balance between the lunar calendar and the solar
one, because there is a different of about ten days each year, and since the
holiday must fall at the right time (i.e. Passover in the spring.) there is a
need to add one month seven times in the period of nineteen years, and in that
year Purim is celebrated on the second Adar.
Adar is the only month that repeats itself in a single calendar year. Because of
the difference between the lunar and the solar year, the sages add an extra
Hebrew month to the lunar year in order to balance the two. This instance occurs
randomly 7 times every 19 years. When we experience two months of Adar, we are
given an extra dose of that powerful energy. Adar is the last of the feminine
months and is the sixth month since Libra and the Jewish New Year. Six
represents Yesod, the luminous emanation that transfers energy to Malchut (our
realm), so Adar gives us even more potential to become channels for others.
A big part of anyone's spiritual journey of transformation is to get to know
themselves for who they really are, and understand and accept the unique
combination of their personality and traits. Learning what your sign means can
give you an important and valuable insight as to what your biggest challenge is,
so that you can transform it and uncover your biggest gift to the world, which
is, simply put, the other side of the same coin.
